ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 1. Article presentation format

 Extension. The article must comply with the following parameters: (i) the text must contain between 40.000 and 55.000 characters, including charts, illustrations and appendixes (if they apply); (ii) the abstract or summary must contain a maximum of 120 words, and (iii) the writer must choose three or four keywords that summarize the article’s content and include 2 or 3 JEL codes that are consistent with the chosen keywords.

 Abstract. It must be written in present tense using the impersonal form. It must present the question that is answered within the text, the theoretical context or perspective used, as well as the methodology employed, the main findings and conclusions and the future lines of research.

 Footnotes. These must only be used to make clarifications and/or to give additional data.

 Charts. The charts must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text. If the article contains appendixes with charts, these must be identified with capital letters and numbers like the following: chart A1 will be the first chart of appendix A. In regards to format, the charts must not have vertical lines, only horizontal to separate the names of outlined categories. For amounts in numbers: separate three-digit numbers with a period (e.g. 1.000), the decimals with commas and unify them if you are going to use one or two decimal numbers in all its digits. Consult the chapter on charts and illustrations of the APA Manual in detail.

 Figures. Figures may include bar graphs, graphics, organization charts or diagrams, and these must have a simple design. If the use of colors is desired, these must be in grey scale, and if lines are used there must be a clear distinction between dotted lines vs. straight lines. Figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text. Consult the chapter on charts and diagrams of the APA Manual in detail.

 Bibliographical references. Should be in the text, in parenthesis: (Last name, year). Example: (Rodríguez, 2005). On quote: (Last name, year, page; for example: Rodríguez, 2005, p. 23).

 Bibliography. Cuadernos de Administración uses ISO standards supported by APA standards. Should be included at the end of the article, in alphabetical order, using the following format:

2. Information on the author(s) and on the origin of the article

An additional file should be submitted with the following information: (i) Author’s/Authors’ full name (for several authors, in the order in which they wish to appear); (ii) updated résumé also including address, city, telephone number and e-mail address, identification number, and date of birth; (iii) list of four potential peer evaluators, their e-mail addresses, and a brief résumé.

Academic information. Author’s/Authors’ under-graduate and graduate degrees, universities that conferred them, city and country of the institution, and dates on which the degrees were obtained (degrees in the original language).

Institutional information. Name of the institution where the author/authors currently works/work, city and country of the institution of which the author(s) is/are members and position that the author/the authors hold, research  group or center to which he/she/they belongs/belong.

Nature of the article. Specify if the article is the result of research, a graduation thesis, an essay or critique. If it is the result of research, indicate the project title, the financing source, the date of completion, and the registration code (if any).

Acknowledgements. Indicate any clarification regarding the work (acknowledgements, collaborators, etc...) with an asterisk after the title and insert it in a foot-note.

3. General conditions

Article delivery. The author(s) must send his/her/their article by OJS,  dividing it into three files:

•    One, a Word file, containing the text with its graphs, tables, and annexes (if any); an abstract in two versions, one in Spanish and the other in English; and a list of the key words in the article.

•    The other will contain the tables (in Word or in Excel) and the graphs or diagrams (in Excel, Word, Power Point, jpeg or tiff), in scales of gray.

•    Three, formats with the information of the authors and the article.

Reception of the articles will be con-firmed by the journal’s Administration in maximum eight business days. Under no circumstances will original texts be returned.

The articles received are remitted to the Editorial Committee that will decide which to send to the respective peer evaluators and, afterwards, based on the evaluation results, it will make the decision on which articles to publish.

Review process. Cuadernos de Administración is an arbitrated journal. All articles are subject to anonymous evaluation, the results of which will be communicated to author(s), for them to reflect the observations and recommendations.

Priority will be given to articles that: (i) are the product  of theoretical reflection; (ii) are the result of empirical research with solid theoretical guiding references; (iii) are critical reviews of the current status of the topic at hand; and (iv) are conceptually and methodologically rigorous.

The articles must treat economic and administrative science topics or other disciplines that represent relevant contributions to them.

Intellectual property. Cuadernos de Administración understands that, when the author/authors remits/remit an article, such author(s) is (are) certifying and accepting that: (i) the article has not been previously published or accepted for publication in another journal; (ii) the publication of a prior version has not been reported as a working paper (or “gray literature”) or on a web site, and that if the article is accepted for publication in Cuadernos de Administración, the author(s) will remove it from such web site(s) and will only leave the title, the abstract, the key words, and the hyperlink to the Journal.   

Upon remitting the articles for evaluation, the author/authors further accepts/accept that he/she/they is/are transferring the copyrights to the journal Cuadernos de Administración, for publication in print or electronically.

The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal and will not be available for any other purpose or person. 

In accordance with Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 on Data Protection and concordant regulations, the Holder is informed that, by providing and voluntary registration of their data in the channels enabled on the Website, they authorize them to be incorporated into a database of data that is the responsibility of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana being processed in order to carry out associative, cultural, recreational, sports and social activities, management of social communication media and / or editorial content, historical, scientific or statistical purposes, administrative procedures and publications and management accounting, tax, administrative and advertising and commercial prospecting - Own advertising. Likewise, I authorize my personal images to be published in print, audiovisual media, website and institutional social networks. 

It is optional to provide information to be viewed on Sensitive Data, understood as those that affect privacy or generate some type of discrimination, or on minors.
